Either I’m even less popular than I thought, or I don’t seem to be getting my Skype voicemail. I know it’s beta, but what do you do when people say they’ve left a message and there’s no record of it?

I just left you a voicemail.
I find a lot of people don’t know how to use voicemail so I get “prank” voicemails by mistake. They see that little black box next to your Skype username and wonder what it is – click – they hear the message and then get embarrassed and don’t record anything.
Most people on my contact list now know what it is though so I don’t get nearly as many prank calls.
